After a power outage, your devices should start to reconnect to the Cogeco network automatically and be online in 5-10 minutes. See below for the startup process for different Cogeco services.
- Internet/Phone - In some cases the modem may need to be reset after power is restored. If your modem does not come online within 10-15 minutes, please perform a manual reset (refer to our articles on resetting your modem, or resetting your fibre optic modem if you live in a Fibre-to-the-Home area).
- Digital TV - After the receiver comes online, some channels may be unavailable for up to 15 minutes, and your menu/guide will say “To Be Announced” while it loads, which can take up to 30 minutes.
- TiVo - After the TiVo devices comes online, your menu/guide will load but you will not be able to access What to Watch or Cogeco on Demand until the modem is online. If these services are still not restored after the modem comes online, you may also need to restart your TiVo equipment (refer to our article on troubleshooting your TiVo connection).
- EPICO - EPICO will not function until the modem is online.
Note: If you have received a notification of a hydro-related outage but your local power is not out, please keep in mind that your Cogeco services may be impacted by power outages close to you if they have interrupted the signal.
