Note: If you live in a Fibre-to-the-Home area, please see here for instructions on resetting your fibre-optic gateway.

To reset your Cogeco modem:

  • Unplug the power for 10 seconds and reconnect it.
  • The modem will try to resynchronize with the Cogeco network, which can take up to 5 minutes.
  • If service is not restored, insert a straightened paperclip, toothpick, or similar object into the “reset” or “reboot” hole located on the back of the modem. Press the paperclip in for 3 seconds, then release (holding longer may Factory Reset the modem).

If your modem does not come back online, or if you are looking for more troubleshooting options, please refer to our article on Internet troubleshooting.

Good to know: If your wireless network no longer appears after the modem comes online, you may have Factory Reset your modem by holding the reset button for too long so it is now using its default network name and password. To customize your network again, please refer to our article on changing your Wi-Fi network name and password.
