When you’re using Cogeco Wi-Fi Pods or certain modem models, your network name and password are controlled through the Cogeco Wi-Fi app, available on iOS and Android mobile devices. Learn more about the Cogeco Wi-Fi app.

Good to know: Since the Cogeco Wi-Fi app uses your My Account credentials, you don’t need to worry about forgetting your network name or password because you can always access them easily from the app. And if you forget your My Account credentials, you can just reset them from the login page.

Changing the network name

The Cogeco Wi-Fi app has 3 separate networks for different levels of access, but they all share the same network name (SSID). The level of access will change depending on which password is used (see Home, Guests and Internet Only below).

  1. Scroll down to the Adapt section on the Cogeco Wi-Fi app home screen and select the settings icon.

  2. Select the pencil icon next to the network name.

  3. Enter the new network name and select Done.

Changing the Home password

Home is your main network and will give full access to your network and all devices.

  1. Scroll down to the Adapt section on the Cogeco Wi-Fi app home screen and select the settings icon.

  2. Select the Home tab.

  3. Select the 3 dots next to the password you want to change and select Edit.

  4. Enter the new password and select Done.

Good to know: You can also set up additional passwords for your Home network and give different passwords to different people to help track their devices and usage. To do this, select New Home password.

Setting up a Guest password

A Guest password provides limited access to your network and can be set with a time limit.

  1. Scroll down to the Adapt section on the Cogeco Wi-Fi app home screen and select the settings icon.

  2. Select the Guests tab.

  3. Select New Guest password.
  4. Enter a name and password.
    • Note: This name is only used in the app to manage the settings for the Guest password. To connect to the network, users will still select the shared network name.
  5. Select a time to disable the password (by default this is set to Never).
  6. Select the devices you want your guests to be able to access (e.g. a TV or printer).
  7. Select Add.

Good to know:

  • You can set up additional Guest passwords by selecting New Guest password again.
  • To edit an existing Guest password, including the time limit and shared devices, select the pencil icon next to the name.
  • If you set a time limit and it expires, the password will still be saved in the app and noted as Disabled. To enable the password again, select the 3 dots next to it and select Enable.

Setting up an Internet Only password

Internet Only users will have access to the Internet but not to any devices in your home.

  1. Scroll down to the Adapt section on the Cogeco Wi-Fi app home screen and select the settings icon.

  2. Select the Internet Only tab.

  3. Select New Internet Only password.
  4. Enter a password.
  5. Select a time to disable the password (by default this is set to Never).
  6. Select Add.

Good to know:

  • You can set up additional Internet Only passwords by selecting New Internet Only password again.
  • To edit an existing Internet Only password, including the time limit, select the 3 dots next to the password.
  • If you set a time limit and it expires, the password and settings will still be saved in the app and the password will be noted as Disabled. To enable the password again, select the 3 dots next to it and select Enable.
