The following article covers managing the wireless network for your ARRIS TG2472 modem, whether it’s to change your current Network Name (SSID) and Password, or to reset them if you’ve forgotten your credentials. If you have a different modem, see here to identify the model and get steps for managing the network.

Good to know: If you're using Cogeco Wi-Fi Pods or extenders, the SSID and password will be managed through the Cogeco Wi-Fi app instead (see here for more information).

Select one of the following options to jump to a topic:

Finding your default Network Name and Password

The default Network Name and Password can be found within My Account.

  1. Log in to My Account in a browser.
  2. Select Equipment from the left menu.
  3. Your Wi-Fi name and password will be listed under Your Wi-Fi settings.

Changing your Network Name and Password

Your Cogeco Wi-Fi network can be managed in your modem settings by logging in through your web browser.

  1. Ensure your device is connected to your network, either through Wi-Fi or by connecting directly to the modem via an Ethernet cable.
  2. In your web browser, go to the address 192.168.0.1.
  3. At the login screen, enter the following:
    • User Name: "admin"
    • Password: "password"
  4. Click Apply to log in.
  5. Choose Basic Setup in the top menu bar.
  6. Enter a Wireless Network Name (SSID) and Pre-Shared Key (password) of your choice for the 2.4 GHz frequency.
  7. Enter a Wireless Network Name (SSID) and Pre-Shared Key (password) of your choice for the 5 GHz frequency.
  8. Click on Apply.

Resetting your Network Name and Password

If you’ve forgotten the password you assigned to your wireless home network, you’ll need to reset your Wi-Fi credentials by restoring your modem to its default settings.

Good to know: If you haven't assigned a unique network name (SSID) and password, it should still be using the default credentials found on My Account.

  • To restore default settings, press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds.
  • The reset button is in a hole on the back of the modem and can be pressed with a toothpick or other thin object.
  • You can now log in using the modem's default network name and password, and customize them if desired.
