Before getting started: This article covers the remote for our Digital TV receivers and DVRs. For help with other remotes, refer to our articles on TiVo and EPICO.

When you press buttons on the remote, the selected mode button at the top of the remote (Cable, VCR, etc.) should flash once.

  • If the button flashes twice or more this indicates the batteries are low and should be replaced.
  • If the button doesn’t flash at all, the batteries may be dead and will need to be replaced.

If the buttons light up but the receiver is not responding:

  • Make sure that nothing is blocking the path between your digital receiver and the remote.
  • Reset your receiver by unplugging the power cord for 15 seconds and then plugging it back in.

If the receiver is still unresponsive, please contact Technical Support to have a replacement remote sent if necessary. Fees may be applied if the remote control is not under warranty.
