When you flip to a channel, it starts recording automatically so you can pause it or rewind and then keep watching. You can leave the channel paused for 2 hours on an SD channel or 30 minutes on an HD channel before playback resumes automatically.
Similarly, you can rewind 2 hours on SD or 30 minutes on HD. Keep in mind that you can only rewind as far back as you have been tuned to the channel (for example, if you flipped to the channel 10 minutes ago, you can only rewind by 10 minutes).
