How do I change my Wi-Fi Network Name and Password?

SSID is the default term used to refer to the network name. You can change the name of your network to personalize it as well as the default password you received at the installation. Please select your equipment model and follow the steps below.

Hitron CODA-4589

  1. Ensure your device is connected to your Cogeco Wi-Fi network, or alternatively connected via an Ethernet cable to the Cogeco modem.
  2. In your web browser’s address bar, type in the address of 192.168.0.1 and hit enter.
  3. At the Hitron login screen, type in the username of "cusadmin".
  4. In the password field, type in "Cogeco1!".
    Note: Alternatively, your password may have been set to one of the following:
    1. "password"
    2. the current password used to join your Wi-Fi network (wireless passkey).
  5. Click on the Login button.

  6. At the top of the screen, click on Wireless.

  7. Enter the Network Name (SSID) of your choice for your 2.4G network.
  8. Enter the Password of your choice for your 2.4G network. Passwords must be a minimum of 8 characters in length.
  9. Click the Save Changes button.
  10. If you also wish to edit your 5G network information, click on the 5G tab.
    Important note: By default, this modem has Band Steering enabled. When this feature is enabled, the modem will use the same Network Name and Password as the 2.4G network. If you wish to have separate network names or passwords, first click the Disabled option on Band Steering.

  11. Enter in the Network Name (SSID) and Password of your choosing for your 5G network.
  12. Click the Save Changes button.
  13. Click on your login name at the top right, and select Log out.

Arris TG3452

  1. Ensure your device is connected to your Cogeco Wi-Fi network, or alternatively connected via an Ethernet cable to the Cogeco modem.
  2. In your web browser’s address bar, type in the address of 192.168.0.1 and hit enter.
  3. At the Arris login screen, type in the username of "admin".
  4. In the password field, type in "password".
  5. Click on the LOGIN button.

  6. Click the link beside 2.4GHz SSID.

  7. Enter the Network Name (SSID) of your choosing.
  8. In the Change Network Password field, enter the password of your choosing. Note that passwords must be a minimum of 8 characters in length.
  9. Enter the 4-character CAPTCHA code shown in the box.
  10. Click the Save button.

  11. If you also wish to edit your 5G network information, click on Networks on the left panel.

  12. Beside your 5 GHz network, click the EDIT button.

  13. Enter the Network Name (SSID) and Password of your choosing.
  14. Enter the 4-character CAPTCHA code shown in the box.
  15. Click the Save button.
  16. Click the Logout link at the top.

Cisco 3848

  1. Ensure your device is connected to your Cogeco Wi-Fi network, or alternatively connected via an Ethernet cable to the Cogeco modem.
  2. Enter the URL 192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
  3. Choose the language if desired, then wait for the refresh of the page.
  4. Leave the User Name and Password fields blank.
  5. Click on Log In.

  6. Click on Wireless.
  7. Click on Radio Settings.
  8. Enter the Wireless Network Name (SSID) of your choice for both the 2.4GHz network and the 5GHz network.
  9. Click on Save Settings.
  10. Click on Wireless Security.
  11. Enter the password of your choice in the fields Pre-Shared Key (enter the same password for both networks).
  12. Click on Save Settings.

Arris TG2472

  1. Ensure your device is connected to your Cogeco Wi-Fi network, or alternatively connected via an Ethernet cable to the Cogeco modem.
  2. Enter the URL 192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
  3. Enter "admin" in the User Name field.
  4. Enter "password" in the Password field.
  5. Click Apply to enter the console.
  6. Choose Basic Setup in the top menu bar.
  7. For each of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, enter the Wireless Network Names (SSIDs) of your choice.
  8. For each of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, enter a password of your choice in the fields Pre-Shared Key.
  9. Click on Apply.
