Direct Roaming:

To access foreign networks, you need an active international roaming plan. This plan, along with your roaming agreements with Cogeco Mobile, is essential.

Sponsored Roaming (also known as Instant Roaming):

An IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) is a unique 15-digit number on a SIM card that allows a network to identify a mobile subscriber for authentication and service access, including roaming.

To offer global coverage, we sometimes use sponsored roaming with a secondary IMSI, like with Telus. However, this can negatively impact the user experience. For instance, Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) might not work, or you may need to re-enter your Access Point Name (APN) settings, as they are removed when switching to the Telus carrier bundle while abroad.

Some Samsung device users roaming in the US with a Telus carrier bundle may need to reboot their phone, depending on the model.
