If your name has changed, you can contact us to update the account holder name on your Cogeco account. This will change the name that appears on your bill and My Account. If you have Home Phone service, you can also change your Call Display name and update the 411 directory listing (an additional fee will apply for the 411 change). See below for the process and requirements, depending on the reason for the change.
Legal name change
If you’ve legally changed your name, including due to marriage, just contact us and we can change the name on your account without any other impacts to your service.
Account holder deceased
If the account holder has passed away, a family member can contact us to provide the date of death and take over the account.
The new account holder will be responsible for any agreements and obligations, including service contracts, previous debts and equipment. We’ll also need to perform a credit check or set up pre-authorized payments.
Roommate taking over
If you want to take over service from a roommate or family member, we’ll need to start a new account. We’ll provide new equipment and an activation fee will apply, but you might also qualify for promotions as a new customer. Contact us to set up your new account.
When you start your new account, the previous account will be disconnected automatically.
