Do I need to leave a Wi-Fi Pod or extender connected to my modem via an Ethernet cable at all times?

This depends on what type of modem you have. Please follow the instructions in the Cogeco Wi-Fi app when installing your pods or extenders, which will indicate if your first pod or extender needs to be connected to the modem.

With our latest modem models, such as the F@st 3896, they will work together with your pods and extenders to create a single mesh network, with your modem acting as the first pod. As this becomes available on other models, we’ll let you know when you can disconnect that first pod or extender.
