Before getting started: Please note that not all equipment needs to be returned. To reduce waste and save you time, we’re now only requesting returns on equipment that can be re-used. When you disconnect or downgrade your service, the agent will let you know if you should return your equipment or just recycle it. Learn more about returning or recycling equipment.

Please select your province below as the Canada Post steps are different in Ontario and Québec.

Return process for Ontario

Below you'll find instructions on how to return your equipment in Ontario, whether you’re upgrading or exchanging your hardware, or cancelling your services altogether. Please read the following information carefully and note that all equipment you’re returning to us needs to be in good working order.

Step 1: Pack up your equipment for return

  1. Put the Cogeco equipment and accessories in a box.
  2. Pack them carefully using newspaper or another packing material to fill in the empty spaces.
  3. Seal the box with packing tape.

Step 2: Print or prepare your label (optional)

  1. Visit the Canada Post Return Form to prepare a pre-paid shipping label.
  2. Fill out the form and print your label or send the QR code to your mobile device for easy processing at the Canada Post Office.

Step 3: Take it to a Canada Post Office

  1. Go to any Canada Post Office. Find a Canada Post Office near you.
    • Note: If you printed your own label, you can attach it to the box and drop it off at any post office or drop box.
  2. Provide the QR code or the following Return ID number to the Canada Post employee: PR489756.
  3. Canada Post will use the QR code or ID to print a shipping label and apply the charges to Cogeco.
  4. We recommend that you make a note of the Canada Post tracking number, just in case it’s needed for tracking purposes.

When we receive your equipment, we’ll send a confirmation to the contact email address we have on your account (if you don’t see the message, check your spam/junk folder for an email from cogeco@communications.cogeco.ca).

Good to know:

  • If you’re cancelling your services, you must let Cogeco know before returning your equipment. If you haven’t already contacted us about cancelling, please contact our Customer Service department before sending your equipment back to us.
  • For Business customers cancelling services: Some of your equipment may be picked up by the Cogeco technician while completing the disconnection. We'll advise you when cancelling if any equipment needs to be returned separately.
  • For Ontario customers cancelling services: If we haven’t received your equipment within 21 days of the cancellation, a charge of between $125 and $400 per piece of equipment will be applied to your account, depending on the cost of the hardware. To avoid unnecessary charges, please return your equipment promptly after you have let us know that you’re cancelling.
