The Grandstream HT814v2 or HT818 ATAv2 (analog telephone adapter) connects to your fibre modem so you can add more phone lines. This is normally installed by a technician, but if you’re having technical issues you can follow the steps below to check the connections and lights on the unit.
Checking connections
- An Ethernet cable should be connected from the NET1 (right) port on the ATA to the 1G LAN port on the fibre modem.
- Use the 10G LAN port on the modem to connect a router or a device that requires an Ethernet connection.
- If you’ll be using 3 or more phone lines, you can connect them to the ports on the ATA (4 or 8, depending on the model). If you’re using fewer than 3, connect them directly to the modem. You should not have phone lines connected to both the ATA and the modem.
Checking lights
Power | The power LED will flash while booting up and then turn solid. |
NET1 | The NET1 LED will be lit when connected to the Cogeco network. |
NET2 | The NET2 LED will be lit when connected to another ATA (if applicable). |
Phone (4-8 LEDs, 1 for each phone jack) |
|
Note: Moving the modem or ATA to a different location will compromise 9-1-1 functionality. Do not move these devices without contacting Cogeco.
