An eSIM is a digital version of a SIM card that’s already built into your device, so there’s no need to insert anything. It lets you activate your mobile plan instantly over Wi-Fi or data. eSIMs are great for using 2 numbers at the same time, and staying connected while traveling.

Most newer phones support eSIM, including:

  • iPhone XS / XR and newer
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer

To find out for sure if your device is compatible with eSIM:

  • On iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data). If you see Add eSIM, your phone is compatible.
  • On Android: Go to Settings, then look for Connections, SIM card manager or similar. If you see an eSIM option, your phone is compatible.

Or, go to your device manufacturer’s website for full details.
