Before getting started: If you have TV with Cogeco but aren’t an EPICO subscriber, refer to our articles on recording on our other platforms, including Digital TV DVR and TiVo.

There are multiple ways to record a show or a movie on EPICO:

Good to know: You can record live content or set future recordings, but you can’t record recently aired content (e.g. the beginning of a show you restarted).

When browsing in the guide

Choose the program you want to record in the guide, then press the Record button on your remote to record a program or a single episode.

  • If it’s a recurring program, press the Record button a second time to record all the episodes of the series. Press a third time if you want to cancel the recording.
  • If it’s not a recurring program, press the Record button a second time to cancel the recording of the show.

Good to know: When using the EPICO app on a streaming device, you can set a recording from the “more options” menu when browsing the guide. The button to access these options varies depending on the device (e.g. long-press OK/Select or press *).

While a show is playing

While watching live TV, press the Record button on your remote to start recording the program.

  • If it’s a recurring program, press the Record button a second time to record all the episodes of the series. Press a third time if you want to cancel the recording.
  • If it’s not a recurring program, press the Record button a second time to cancel the recording of the show.

Good to know: When using the EPICO app on a streaming device, press OK/Select to bring up playback options, and then select the Record icon.

In the details page of a show

  1. Select Record.
  2. If it’s a recurring show, select Only this episode or Entire series.
  3. Choose your preferred advanced recording options then select Record.

With a manual recording

You can manually set a recording start time and end time on a specific channel (e.g. start recording TSN at 2 p.m. and end at 11 p.m.).

  1. From your profile, access the DVR Manager from the Recordings menu.
  2. Select + Add Recording.
    • Note: On a streaming device, select the + icon.
  3. Select Manual Recording.
  4. Customize the Channel, Date & Time and Keep until.
    • Note: The Keep until option will prevent recordings from being deleted to make room for new recordings if you run out of storage space, but the recording will still be deleted 90 days after the date it was recorded.
  5. Select Record to save the recording.

Advanced recording options

When you record a new program from its details page, or if you go to your recordings list, you’re able to choose from the following advanced recording options:

  • Show type: Choose to record a series First run only or both First run & rerun.
  • Time: Choose to record a series Any day, any time, Any day around a specific time or Any time once per day.
  • Channel: If a single program or series is aired on several channels, choose which channel you want to record it from. To record episodes of the same show on another channel, you will need to set a second recording.
  • Recording Padding: Choose to stop the recording At the scheduled end time or up to 1 hour later.
  • Keep until: Choose to keep your recording on your Cloud DVR until space is needed or until you decide to erase it.
    • Note: The recording will still be deleted 90 days after the date it was recorded.
