How can I tell if Cogeco Security is active on my computer?

Before getting started: This article covers the latest version of Cogeco Security, which is available for free to all Cogeco Internet subscribers. Learn more about updating to the new version.

Once Cogeco Security has been installed on your computer, you can quickly check to make sure it is active for your peace of mind.

If you haven’t installed Cogeco Security yet, learn now to install it here.

Confirming on Windows

If Cogeco Security has been successfully installed on your Windows computer, you'll see a Cogeco Security icon in the system tray at the bottom right of the screen.

To validate which features are active, such as virus protection or browsing protection, click on the icon to open Cogeco Security. The main page will have an icon next to each feature to indicate whether it is active, partially active, or disabled.

Confirming on Mac

If Cogeco Security has been successfully installed on your Mac, you'll see a Cogeco Security icon in the toolbar at the top right of the screen. Rolling your cursor over the icon will provide more detail on the status.
